Frequently Asked Questions |
|---|
|
| 1. What is your privacy policy? |
| We are committed to protecting and preserving the privacy of our users. We will never sell or give contact information to others. Credit card information is not stored on our servers. Our bidding system is devised to ensure that the identities of bidders are seen only by the seller. We do not send spam. On the rare occasions that we email circulars to our advertisers, the recipient list is concealed. |
| 2. Do you guarantee the accuracy of your adverts? |
| We are not able to check the accuracy of the information in adverts. If you are relatively new to alpacas it might be advisable to engage your own independent expert to advise. |
| 3. What does it cost to advertise on your site? |
| Adverts for stud sires, and packages comprising alpacas advertised individually, are free.
All other adverts cost A$9.90 per advert. This cost includes GST and is for an unlimited period
of time. There is no additional cost for linking photos to adverts, and there is no additional
cost for updating an advertisement, which can be done conveniently on-line at any time.
There is no requirement to pay in advance. In due course, you will receive a Tax Invoice, either by email or ordinary mail, depending on which you selected at sign up. Payment is required within 30 days. Banner adverts (150px x 100px) cost $132.00 per year. Your banner will be displayed at the foot of every page visible to visitors who are not logged on. Banners will be permanently displayed, not rotated. |
| 4. How do I create an advertisement? |
| First click on Sign Up, when you will be asked to select a userid and password, and to give the contact information which will be displayed on your adverts, plus other information which we may need. Write down your userid and memorise your password, as you will need this information whenever you create, edit, or delete an advert. Once you have signed up successfully you may immediately log on. An additional menu will appear, through which you may create adverts. |
| 5. How do I include photos? |
| If you have an image file smaller than 1MB in JPEG, PNG or GIF format,
this can be uploaded on line. It does not matter if your image is
too big (provided the file size is no greater than 1MB), because our
software will rescale your image to an appropriate size. Our
software does not allow you to crop your image on-line.
If your digital image requires cropping or other adjustments, please send your file as an attachment using the Contact Us form. We will adjust and upload your file for you, and currently there is no charge for this. If your photos are not available as image files, send us your photos as postcard-size prints, with your userid or stud name and the animals name on the back. If you wish to have the photos returned, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope. |
| 6. How does your bidding system work? |
| When you create an advert for an alpaca or a package of alpacas you may
enable or disable bidding. If you choose to enable bidding, an icon
will be displayed on your advert which visitors can click to submit a
bid. You will receive the details instantly by email.
Therefore, you should not consider enabling bidding unless the email
address which you gave us on sign up is up-to-date and functioning.
The identities of bidders can be seen only by the advertiser. Therefore, there is no reason why an advertiser cannot bid for their own alpaca or package. This is in fact quite a good way to discretely set a reserve price, and also to check that the system is working. An advertiser who is logged on can review all un-deleted bids and selectively delete any bids. When an advert is deleted all bids associated with that advert are automatically deleted |
| 7. What should I do when I sell an alpaca? |
| When you have entered into an agreement to sell an alpaca, amend the advert by selecting "Sold" in response to the question "Sold?". The advert will continue to be displayed but with the word "SOLD" super-imposed. Once the transfer of ownership is complete, please delete the advert. |
| 8. Under what circumstances might you delete an advertisement? |
| We reserve the right to delete or decline to accept any advertisement if in our judgement alone the content is in any way offensive, misleading, inaccurate or out-of-date. |
